Group About
In Star Wars, Mandalore was first the home world of an aggressive species known as the Taung, and was named after the legendary conqueror of the vibrant world, Mandalore the First. The Taung deified war, and as a part of taming the savage planet, the Taung slew the indigenous mythosaurs, not only solidifying the planet as the center of Mandalorian Culture, but establishing the dominance in warfare for the Mandalorian people. Inevitably war will affect a population, and the Mandalorians grew from a single-species race to a culture that adopted others regardless of race or origin, as long as they followed the principles, practices, and ideals of being a Mandalorian. Through this integration Mandalorians evolved to become a culture that valued family, camaraderie, life experience and protecting clan and kin above all else.
This served as the inspiration for the Mandokarla Clan, which established Mandalorian Practice through the foundation of the Resol'nare, or Six Actions :Bajuur, Beskar'gam, Ara'nov, Aliit, Mando'a bal Mandalor, An Vencuyan Mhi (Education, Armour, Self-Defense, our Tribe, our Language our Leader, all help us survive). Here at Jedi Community we're carrying this forward, and anyone who's interested in exploring the tenets, practices, and especially culture of what it means to be a Mandalorian is free to do so here.
